THE BENEFITS OF NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION

National Board Certification is designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and generate ongoing improvement in schools. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education and is recognized nationwide. As a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), you can impact student learning and grow as a teacher. Plus, NBCTs in Hawaii get a $5,000 annual bonus each year they are certified, and NBCTs working in hard-to-staff areas can earn additional bonuses. National Board Certification also opens up doors to leadership opportunities. NBCTs are eligible for an advanced license and additional fields of licensure in Hawaii.
